Although each metal type requires specific cleaning and care methods, general care guidelines apply to all metal types.

The Lowest Price Is Our Costume Jewelry including the Daisy Mae Collection. The metals found in these pieces are primarily made of iron and include other trace minerals. Those trace minerals are made up of a metallic alloy of either zinc, steel, or aluminum. These pieces meets applicable consumer safety laws and regulations in the United States. They are not hypoallergenic. We do carry pieces made from actual leather, synthetic leather or suede which is a mix of plastics and fabric. Some of the bracelets and rings may have latex in the elastic/stretch band. We recommend that those persons with sensitivity to latex buy the suede or leather bracelets or the 18K gold, sterling silver or stainless steel jewelry instead. See info on these pieces below.

To prolong the life and luster of these pieces:

Clean items with a soft cloth
Do NOT use Jewelry cleaner
Lotions and perfumes may cause discoloration
If accidentally wet or submerged in water, remove jewelry and blot dry immediately.

Daisy Chain Fashion Jewelry is a higher-quality of jewelry. Most of these pieces are made of stainless steel with gold plating, sterling silver, stainless steel and top-class cubic zirconia elements.

18K Yellow Gold

Because yellow gold is more durable than white gold, mild chemicals such as ammonia can be used to clean yellow gold. Follow these steps to clean your yellow gold pieces:

Prepare a cleaning solution by mixing soap, warm water, and a few drops of ammonia.
Soak the piece in the solution for 20-30 minutes. Use a soft bristled toothbrush or a soft cloth to remove pesky dirt.
Rinse off soap with water and either allow to airdry or blot dry with a soft, clean lint-free cloth or paper towel.
Use a polishing cloth to help remove any further tarnishing.
Remember that gold is a soft metal, so be gentle during the brushing and polishing processes.
Additionally, do not use toothpaste or baking soda mixtures to clean gold as these can be abrasive to the softer metal.

Sterling Silver

Exposure to air and humidity will cause sterling silver sterling silver to tarnish or dull over time. When possible, keep your silver in an air-tight container and away from water or moist environments. A small piece of chalk or a silica gel packet will help absorb any excess moisture in your jewelry box and help keep your silver jewelry untarnished for longer. To remove tarnish and keep your silver bright, gently rub the piece with a silver jewelry cleaning cloth. For more severe tarnishing issues, a common at home remedy includes:

Line a baking dish, bowl, or pot with aluminum foil. Make sure the dish is completely covered in foil.
Bring enough water to fill your foil-lined container to a boil.
Add one tablespoon of baking soda for every one cup of water you used.
Place your silver jewelry in the dish you have lined with foil, and make sure it is touching the foil. This is required for the chemical reaction that removes the tarnish to occur.
Carefully(!) pour the boiling water and baking soda solution into the dish.
Allow the water to sit for 2-5 minutes. If your tarnish is particularly bad, you can leave for up to 10 minutes. The boiling baking soda solution and foil should cause a chemical reaction that reverses your tarnish in seconds or minutes.
Remove your jewelry carefully with a spoon or kitchen tongs and rinse under cool water to cool it down.
Dry thoroughly with a soft cleaning cloth.

Stainless Steel

Stainless steel jewelry is resistant to most scratches and dents, but it’s not indestructible. When you wear your stainless steel jewelry—particularly if the pieces are large or heavy—you should remove it during activities that can pull or catch on it, like sleeping or sports. This applies to all types of jewelry—not just stainless steel!

Stainless steel is also durable enough that you can use it in place of gold or silver for everyday wear without fear of losing its shine. Most cleaning products are safe to use on stainless steel: Stainless steel contains chromium which gives the metal it's stainless property, it doesn't oxidize or rust. This is why it is such a popular choice for jewelry, piercings and watches.

You can mix baking soda with water, toothpaste & water, dishwashing liquid, hand soap or laundry powder mixed with water.
Just be careful not to use an abrasive brush as it will scratch the surface.
Using a gentle cloth is recommended.
